Test Lab: Slow Cooker Roasted Garlic Recipe

Ingredients

* 3 large bulbs of garlic
* 3 TBSP. olive oil


Directions

1. in a 1 quart slow cooker pour in 1 TBSP. olive oil
2. cut the tops off of 3 bulbs of garlic
3. place the garlic in slow cooker right side up on top of the oil
4. drizzle 2 TBSP. olive oil over the tops of the garlic
5. cover and cook on Low for 4 hours or until the garlic is soft and tender.
6. cool and wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate

August 23, 2008: Pork Chops with Arabic Masala Mix

1.33 pounds of pork chops (2 large pieces)
1 packet dry onion soup mix
Arabic Masala Mix*
Olive oil

Coat the pork chops in olive oil and and a mixture of masala mix and onion soup mix.
Cook for 2 hours

Servie with boiled potatoes with lemon butter

*This mix is sold in Carrefour

August 9, 2008: Steak with Beans in Tomato Sauce

2 pounds chuck roast
1 can of tomato sauce
1 onion soup mix (if you do not have fresh onions)
1 can of gandules (or lentil beans, I believe)
olive oil

Coat roast in olive oil, then the dry onion soup mix
Mix the tomato sauce with one can of water
Cook for 2 hours
At the end of 1 1/2 hours, open the slow cooker and drop the gandules so it wil lnotbe soggy

Serve with yellow rice
